Founded as a former British colony, and highly based on trade and its geographical location, Hong Kong is one of the world’s top financial centres, and has a unique historical, social and geographical connection to Mainland China and the World.
Since our foundation in 1984, the Norwegian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (NorCham HK) has supported Norwegian companies in Hong Kong and local companies doing business with Norway for almost four decades.
Hong Kong continues to serve as a key gateway for business both to and from Mainland China, offering exceptional networking opportunities, a highly sophisticated legal and financial system and a business-friendly culture. One part of our involvement locally is the exchange of useful information for Norwegian businesses considering to set up business in Hong Kong, which we provide in part with the help of InvestHK and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
NorCham HK is also active in building and developing positive working relationships between government officials in Hong Kong and Norway, as well as the international business and diplomatic community. NorCham HK is an active member in both the European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham), as well as the International Chamber of Commerce (InterCham), where we work with other national chambers in a cooperation for the betterment of Norwegian businesses in Hong Kong and internationally.
Together with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing, as well as the Consulate General's offices in Guangzhou and Shanghai, Innovation Norway, the Norwegian Business Association China and other key organizations, we form Team Norway China. Together, we work to enhance Norwegian influence in Hong Kong and China as a whole, and to create new opportunities for business.
Throughout the year we organize or co-host business luncheons, invite a variety of guest speakers both from the Norwegian and the international community, including China-experts, business-leaders, company owners, media personalities, and diplomats, government officials and visitors from Norway.
