May 17th Norwegian National Day Celebration
On Sunday May 13th we gathered again at The Marquee in Repulse Bay to celebrate the Norwegian national day here in Hong Kong. Traditionally being an arrangement carried out by “Klubb Norge Hong Kong” this year’s celebration was the first event jointly arranged after Klubb Norge merged with the Norwegian Chamber of Commerce.
The arrangement saw over 60 enthusiastic attendees gathered for a lovely feast which, as always, of course included Gilde Wiener sausages, Toro Waffles and Idun Ketchup & Sennep, all hand carried from Norway for this special occasion.
We were also honored by attendance from the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou, represented by Consul General Ståle Torstein Risa, and our newly appointed Honorary Consul here in Hong Kong, Ms Sabrina Chao.
No 17 mai celebration is complete without the traditional parade, so after having devoured the sausages and waffles we all paraded down to the beach where the celebration continued as expected with games for the kids.
